Prayer Works!!  Pray for the Nation

We can worry about tomorrow or give it to the Lord.  Only He can protect us from evil.  We must pray without ceasing.

President Bush has declared Sept. 14 a day of prayer.  

Be sure to fall to your knees at Noon to ask the Lord to take control of our nation and to keep us from evil.  

Pray for the families who mourn and for the injured who suffer.

There are several different kinds of prayer.  Each has a distinct purpose yet we often combine these different forms of prayer into one grand prayer.  Here are the different kinds of prayer:

1. Intercession- praying on behalf of someone else's need
2. Praise- worshipping God for who he is
3. Thanksgiving-  showing gratitude for what the Lord has done
4. Request-  asking, seeking from the Lord
5. Fasting- giving up all or some food and/or drink in order to focus on prayer and communication with the Lord.

Jesus took the disciples into the Garden of Gethsemane where he prayed to the Father.  He took the disciples to watch and pray with Him (Mat. 26:41).  Likewise we are told to pray without ceasing (1 Thess 5:17).

When we have a need, it is always helpful to have many praying with us in agreement.  Matthew 18:19 tells us that "if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven."

We would like to join with you in prayer.  Do you have a need, concern, or problem? It's time to give it to the Lord.  Send us your prayer request or prayer of thanksgiving and we will pray and rejoice with you.

Cast your burdens at the feet of Jesus.  He cares, understands and answers prayer. Ask and you will receive.
